Archive of American Jews in Sports
Please visit the official Jews in Sports Online site.
In
1999, the AJHS created the Archive of American Jews in Sports
to promote scholarly and public interest in the role that
Jews have played in American sports, and sports has played
in the Americanization of the Jewish people.
Its goal is to
encourage serious consideration of sports as an aspect of
American Jewish history. The Archive collects memorabilia,
papers, publications and other materials that permit research
into the subject of American Jews and sports. Some of the
Archives holdings include:
- Papers of Moe Berg, Hank Greenberg and Ray Arcel
- Memorabilia and photographs relating to other amateur and professional Jewish athletes
