United Jewish Appeal-Federation of New York Collection

UJA Logo

Over the course of a four-year project, the American Jewish Historical Society will organize, describe, and make available thousands of boxes of archival material connected with the projects and philanthropic mission of UJA-Federation of New York. This project has been generously funded by UJA-Fed of NY.

Finding aids for various parts of the collection will be made available online as minimal processing is completed. Permission may be obtained to view records as they are processed. By 2015 the basic finding aid for the collection should be complete and open to researchers.

United Jewish Appeal-Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of New York (UJA-Fed of NY) has been a central force for communal planning and philanthropy in the New York Jewish community since 1917. More than 60,000 donors pool their resources to help people in need, inspire a passion for Jewish life and learning, and strengthen Jewish communities around the world. Projects relate to health and human services, aging and vulnerable populations, Jewish education, and disaster relief.

Until then, please follow our progress on this project on our blog, and enjoy the oral history collection, which is now available in its entirety. Click here to view the UJA Oral History Finding Aid.
